Anne, who works in the hospitality industry, was cycling to work in Dublin when suddenly from behind she was knocked off her bike and subsequently driven over. Anne had substantial injuries to her right and left foot, an ankle which required reconstruction and an elbow which was fractured. Due to the severity of Anne’s personal injury* she required rehabilitation so she was unable to work. The defendant declined to have the injuries assessed by the Injuries Board. Her personal injury* case was submitted to the High Court in Dublin. Before the case went into court it settled for €270,000.
