Monica, a hotel worker, suffered a partial amputation of her finger at work. The Client suffered a lot of pain as a door slammed shut with great force severing a portion of her finger. The client was extremely upset as a result of what happened to her. We submitted the personal injury* case to the injuries board for her. However, the Defendant refused to allow the case to be assessed by the injuries board. We subsequently received an authorisation from the injuries board on behalf of the client to issue High Court proceedings in Dublin for compensation for her personal injury*. The Defendants contested the matter at hearing. The Judge ruled in favour of our client and found that the employer was negligent and our client was awarded €50,000 as she was not provided with a safe place or system to work and exposed her to a risk of personal injury. This personal injury* case took 13 months to conclude once Court proceedings had issued.
