What are the most common types of road traffic injuries?

The most common type of injury receiving compensation for road traffic accidents are whiplash, back and spinal injuries. In serious injury cases, you may be able to claim compensation for medical bills, loss of earnings and compensation for personal suffering.

Different compensation processes

Your injury is most likely to have been caused by being involved in a road traffic accident as a driver, pedestrian, motorcyclist or pedal cyclist.  In these cases, your personal injury claim for compensation would be made against the insurance company of the person driving the vehicle which collided with you.

Alternatively, if you were injured as a passenger in a car or on a motorcycle, you may make a claim against the insurance company of the person who was responsible for the accident. This might be the driver of the vehicle you were in or the driver of another vehicle.
